I recently chartered Marshall from Georgia with his brother-in-law on a four hour inshore bay trip. With the cool bay waters and low incoming winter tides we started around 9:30 and fished around the shallow grass flats and deeper holes for speckled sea trout and redfish.
Although we found a few redfish, they weren’t interested in eating. As the sun started warming up the bay water’s we started catching several speckled sea trout using artificial baits in the deeper holes and channels, working them very slowly through the grass beds.
